The 2001 vintage Cabernet Sauvignon is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. This classically styled Cabernet has aromas of cassis, black currants, and toast oak. The flavors are a good balance of fruit and acidity. Adding Merlot to the blend softens the more aggressive texture of the Cabernet without compromising the wines aging ability.
The vineyards sources range from the Coombsville area east of the town of Napa to Oakville in the middle of the Napa Valley. This wine is the fourth of five vintages in our Second Marilyn Cabernet Collection. Only 409 cases were produced.
